Meet Steph

Steph is a qualified coach and facilitator who is passionate about supporting, encouraging and championing women.

I started coaching as part of my job in Learning and Development for a big corporate. I loved the simplicity and power of coaching; that I could support people to improve their performance, reach challenging goals and in some instances take giant steps forward when they had been static for years, just by asking the right questions. But I was restrained by the context and had come to a crossroads in my life where questions like ‘Is this it?’ began to ring loudly, so I got myself a coach to explore what was next.

That season of coaching helped me to find the clarity I needed about what it was I really wanted from life (not just work). It brought me back to my purpose and helped me to dream for the future I really wanted. A future I was inspired by and could see would be fulfilling and exciting – and just a little terrifying about how I would get there!  And then just as I was concluding the coaching, I found out I was pregnant. A long-held dream that finally came true and all thoughts of my vision were suddenly put on hold; my focus was now bringing this new life into the world and being a good mum became my drive and my immediate ambition.

Eventually when I felt the fog of broken nights had lifted enough to give my brain a chance, I started to pick up the threads of my dreams again and Lift Off was born. It hasn’t been an easy ride so far (global pandemic anyone?!), and often the pull of motherhood has outweighed the push for success but finding the work/life rhythm that works for me has made me even more determined to make my little business accessible to all women who feel that tug – there is more for me and I want to make the most of this life I have been given.

As I dream for Lift Off I see it as a gift to the town of Tonbridge and want the team to grow over time to include other disciplines within therapy, wellbeing and life-management. My vision is that everyone in the town has the opportunity to heal, grow, learn and live a life that is fulfilling for them no matter their life stage, economic situation, background, or beliefs.

I passionately believe that every single person is valuable, that we all have a reason to be on this planet and that purpose will lead us to live our most fulfilled and joyful lives. I also passionately believe in the power of coaching to transform, bring breakthrough and get people to where they want to be. I am committed to ethical coaching practice and fully subscribe to the EMCC’s Global Code of Ethics and I still regularly see my coach who provides a supervisory role for my coaching practice. It’s great to have the opportunity to continually grow and develop so that my clients get the absolute best from me.
